Does anyone else regularly find themselves staring into the near-empty cereal container asking, “What can I do with all these Weetbix crumbs?” No one ever eats them in our house so they just gather at the bottom of the container until I get fed-up and bin them. If you’re like me and you hate wasting food, this post is for you.
I can’t pretend to be the biggest fan of cereal. Watching my children inhale their morning bowl of Rice Bubbles and Corn Flakes (mixed!) I can’t help but calculate how little nutrition there is in their bowls. However, of all the cereals, Weetbix is probably one of the least offensive. It is low in salt and sugar and high in fibre.
Most of the recipes use whole Weetbix biscuits so I weighed a few at home. I would substitute crumbs for whole biscuits as follows:
1 x Weetabix biscuit = 18-20g of crumbs
I dedicate this post to all the Weetbix crumbs who have gone before these. May we never needlessly lose another crumb as we fight the war against waste!
1. No-bake Chocolate Weetbix Slice
A super easy, kid-friendly slice using dates, seeds and cocoa powder.
2. Coconut Breakfast Balls
These are quick and simple and great as a grab-and-go breakfast bite or when you need an energy boost.
3. Hot Banana & Peanut Butter WeetBix Porridge
I’ve never tried Weetbix porridge but this recipe really makes me want to!
4. Vegan Chocolate Weetbix Balls
Another Weetbix ball using dried fruit and almond meal. This one uses rice malt syrup which is my favourite sugar alternative.
5. Brekky Berry Smoothie
I find smoothies are a great way of getting healthy foods into the kids without them even knowing!
6. WeetBix Protein Slice
No baking and no nasties in this one. An easy and healthy alternative to the beloved British flapjack.
7. Blueberry & Lemon Weetbix Muffins
A tray of blueberry muffins lasts about half a day in our home. This recipe is sure to be a hit.
Do you have a clever way of using up your Weetbix (or Weetabix!) crumbs? Let me know in the comments.

That is so interesting you’ve never heard of Weetbix. Perhaps it is a Southern Hemisphere thing!
They are called VitaBrits here in Australia 💕
Although we do also have Weetbix
Great wеbsitе. Plenty of useful info here.
I’m sending it to sеvï½…ral buddies ans additionally sharing in deliciouÑ•.
And obviously, thank you in your effort!
I mix them up cornflakes, oats and Parmesan and use it to make cornflake chicken (like chicken nuggets). Just dip cubes of raw chicken in flour, then egg, then the cereal mix and bake 🙂
