Recommended Book Series’ for Six to Eight-year-old Girls

My seven-year-old daughter is an avid reader. She read more than 250 chapter books in the first six months of this year, which I suspect is more than some adults have read in their entire lives. We have had to ban books at the dinner table but she gets away with them at breakfast because it means there are less sibling wars at 7am!

She and I were recently chatting about her love of reading and we thought it could be fun to collaborate on a few blog posts. I asked her if she could recommend some book series for six to eight-year-old girls and she has painstakingly narrowed it down to the books listed below (“But Mum! How will I choose my favourites when there are so many series I love?!“).

Here are Scarlett’s favourite book series for six to eight-year-old girls. She has already started compiling a list of series she thinks boys might enjoy too. Keep an eye out for that one soon! Descriptions and reviews are her own. We hope this list inspires you when choosing your next rainy/sunny/weekend/anyday(!) read.

Many more books have been added to our list since this post was published. If you are after more books for this age group, you can find a more recent list here: More of our Favourite Books and Series for Six to Eight-year-olds

Ivy and Bean is a great series about two girls (Ivy and Bean) who play together all the time and usually get up to all sorts of mischief (most of the time it’s Bean!).
